The Board Polish Business Roundtable has read the relevant part of the decision of the Appellate Court,\u00a0 on the basis of which Piotr Osiecki, a member of our association, was remanded in custody again. We also received a legal opinion from a professor of the University of Warsaw specialized in criminal proceedings.<\/p>\n
Both documents indicate that the pre-trial detention of Piotr Osiecki is not only unfounded but also unlawful.<\/p>\n
The policy of the Prosecutor\u2019s Office, which demands many months of arrest in order to question the suspect twice, and the incompetence of service-minded judges, who willingly cooperate with the prosecution, was crowned, in the case of Piotr Osiecki, with an unbelievable, scandalous violation of civil rights.<\/p>\n
We therefore demand the immediate release of Piotr Osiecki and expect that the representatives of the judiciary, who are guilty of his prolonged arrest, will be held responsible and punished in the strictest possible way.<\/p>\n
